Aspen is the hardwood species among the native hardwood species for the field of sauna and furthermore still further very versatile. Due to its uniform structures, uniform color and odorlessness, aspen and the processed wood, is not only interesting for saunas, but also best suited for a number of other special uses.
with the exclusive Thermo-Espe sauna woods, both visually demanding customers are well served, as well as those who are in a hurry. The woods of our Thermo-Espen product group have been treated under pressure, steam, which makes them slightly darker and more resistant than the basic woods. The thermal treatment changes the properties and color of the wood - permanently aspen wood becomes less water-attractive and even more resistant, which allows Thermo-Espe to be used for indoor and outdoor sauna construction. Due to the slightly wider panels (boards), the sauna construction later looks very noble and visually appealing.
Due to its certified formaldehyde-free status according to ÖNORm m 6219-1, the sauna wood meets all requirements for commercial and public sauna facilities.
The aspen wood species is one of the few hardwoods that is not only visually convincing, but is also widely used in saunas due to its stability and dimensional stability. The average moisture content of the wood is only 8% (+/- 2%). Remarkable in relation to the low bulk density (weight) is the high wear resistance and thus longevity. Aspen wood is a preferred material in sauna construction and is highly recommended by us. The profiled woods are free of disturbing resins and are therefore excellently suitable as e.g. slats for benches and benches, large wall mountings or other purposes.
